As President of OEC Fiber, David is a pioneer in leading the efforts to bring a true fiber internet service & more to OEC electric members and non-members who are lacking high quality and reliable access to broadband in the service territory of Oklahoma Electric Cooperative.

OEC Fiber is one of the fastest growing fiber to the home & business subscriber companies in the country. With a plan initially set out of 5-7 years to build the network to its electric members & connect subscribers along the way, it was under David’s leadership the system build was completed in 4 years passing all 45,000 OEC members in addition to connecting non-OEC members in a very strategic off system build at the same time. The OEC Fiber team also offers OEC Fiber TV and OEC Fiber Phone for residential and business solutions.

David leads a highly skilled team in all aspects of OEC Fiber and spends quite a bit of time in the details with the team to ensure that all aspects of OEC Fiber are up to the expectations of their subscribers to ensure that a high level of service and transparency is being delivered.

David additionally has a vast background in the fast-paced big box retail & airport retail world.  He has also served as an Associate Vice President at the University of Oklahoma in the IT Department while also working with the CFO and Executive Vice President on strategic initiatives.  He has also held a Regional Manager Leadership role with Apple Computers on the Higher Education side. 

Additionally, OEC Fiber has been awarded 2 years in a row the Journal Record Award for Best Internet Provider in the State of Oklahoma.

David also serves on the Calix Leadership Advisory Board with the executive team at Calix ensuring that the coop voice is heard and understood the challenges that are faced which are sometimes different from a traditional ISP.

David is married to one of his biggest supporters Jenny Goodspeed, has a 21-year-old daughter Rylee Goodspeed who is a student at the University of Oklahoma and juggles all this while raising a very temperamental 8 year old rescued Basset Hound named Boone.
